News Nº 28: Destruction of the lights in Central Park and assault on our staff

At Covenant we have already endured a lot: insults, fake news and permanent lies on social networks and in the press that damage the image of Resort. Also the sabotage of the entrance security (which favors criminals), several destruction of the main entrance barriers, daily insults to our staff, and even assault with fists towards our administrative coordinator … but what happened on Friday  exceeds all limits!

In recent weeks we have been working and investing a lot of money to put lights in Central Park, with green energy (wind and solar), in the recreational areas and around the bike lane, so that the whole community could enjoy the park at night when the temperatures are cooler.

Friday night we found that all the lights in the park were off. Investigating the motive, we found that the cables had been cut and the register box sabotaged. It was not a cable theft as sometimes happens in the area, but an act of vandalism directed against Covenant and the Developer, but in reality it harms the entire community that will no longer be able to enjoy the park at night.

Another serious incident occurred last Thursday, when a resident attacked, scratched and injured one of our guards at the main entrance of the Resort, without any reason or provocation. This person refused to identify herself, and arrogantly,  got out of her vehicle and attacked the guard by scratching it, in order to be able to press the opening button of the barrier by force, in addition to verbally insulting him.

We have zero tolerance for aggressions and violence towards our staff, for which we have filed a criminal complaint. This cannot happen again.

These shameful actions for our community are the direct result of anti-Covenant propaganda by email, Facebook and press by irresponsible people who harm all owners.

As a community, we cannot accept it and we have to react. Unfortunately, many people do not want to get involved in what is happening in Puerto Aventuras. We understand that the situation is tedious, but the seriousness of this situation requires that everyone take their responsibilities.

The way we resolve this situation will depend on the quality of life that we will enjoy in the coming years and the value of our properties, so we cannot remain as spectators of this sad situation. It is time to act and make decisions. It is time to analyze the situation objectively looking at the facts and the evidences to see who is lying and who is telling the truth, to see who is investing to improve and modernize Puerto Aventuras and who wastes the community’s money on lawyers to fight or in inflated expenses to manage the Resort with methods of the last century. See who is making improvements and investment, and who is cutting security, maintenance, and the staff.

For those of you who don’t like Covenant, we have a question for you. Do you have an objective motive? or you base your opinion on the fake news and lies of these same people who sabotage the security of our home and speak ill of Puerto Aventuras.

To those who think that the two associations always fight, we invite you to look at the facts. In this link are the news sent by Covenant, http://colonos.org/en/news, all are positive news explaining what we do to improve Puerto Aventuras, which are systematically answered by 1, 2 and up to 3 negative communications and full of hatred for paranoid people who claim in every statement that Covenant is attacking them. Have we really attacked them?

Is it attacking someone, asking to improve the security of the community, that each resident identifies himself as an owner or tenant with a unique identification that contains a chip that automatically records the entrances and exits?

Or ask the thousands of employees who enter every day to prove that they actually have a job in the Resort?

Or ask visitors to verify by means of a QR code that they have been invited by owners or residents, and that each entry is automatically recorded in our system?

The reality is that we have not attacked anyone. All the measures we have taken are logical measures, of good sense whose sole objective is to improve the security of the entrance, which is supposed to be a goal shared by the entire community.

Does anyone really believe that inviting the owners to block the entrances, or to refuse to identify themselves with the PA Passport, which is the official card of the Resort used by more than 95% of the owners, residents and employees, is something positive for the community? and helps security? Of course not !

There are only around 170 problematic persons who enter daily without PA Passport pretending to be owner, while nearly 5000 owners, residents, employes and visitors follows the access rules. We cannot accept that such a small minority comes to disturb the operation of the entrance.

Perhaps you should ask yourself what would happen to Puerto Aventuras and the value of your properties without the security provided by Covenant at the main entrance, because the reality is that no one else has 8 million pesos a year to put surveillance personnel and invest in high-quality equipment. technology to ensure the security of the entrance of the Resort.

It is time for everyone to take responsibility. As a community, it is urgent to remove support from people who speak ill of our home, who want to impose chaos by inciting owners to violate the rules of civility and safety rules, who waste money on lawyers to fight when all the owners and residents want peace.

The only way things change in Puerto Aventuras is to join Covenant : http://colonos.org/en/affiliations. With more members we will be able to take care of the internal security of the Resort, and thus have a comprehensive security policy based on the latest technologies (HD camera, bodycam, facial recognition and license plates …), and later all the administration and maintenance of the Resort applying management methods of 2021, instead of the methods of the last century that are applied today.
