News Nº42 :  Covenant New Security and fight against speeding

As we had announced, since December 1, we started with our new internal security with 3 motorcycles that patrol in the resort, see : colonos.org/en/news-no35-private-security-for-covenant-members-inside-the-resort

Taking advantage of the patrolling inside the resort, we are also going to fight against incivilities that have become a major problem for many owners and that until now no one has sought to solve:

Speeding :

We are going to work as a priority on speeding that endangers our community and has been the problem that has generated the most complaints. As the Municipal Police recalled, the maximum authorized speed in Puerto Aventuras is 30 km/h. (https://youtu.be/GIHgN8caP6c).

Unfortunately, every day we see cars circulating at much higher speeds, endangering our children and the animals that make the charm of our community. We will no longer allow it. We have bought speed radar and our patrol guards will be in charge of fighting against speeding within the Resort.

In the next few days, we will do prevention and explain how it works, but as of Monday, December 13, 2021, any speeding will imply the immediate suspension of all privileges offered by Covenant. If you want to reestablish your privileges, you will have to pay a reactivation fee of 500 pesos.

If violators are not residents, they will be denied access on all subsequent visits until they pay the reactivation fee for their license plates at Covenant. In case of lack of collaboration, assault on our staff, escape … or speed greater than 50 km/h, the reactivation fee will be 1000 pesos.

Badly parked cars :

Abusive parking in handicapped parking lots will not be allowed, so any car that does not have a handicapped license plate or sticker will be penalized. We will also report cars that park in the middle of the street blocking traffic or blocking the exit of owners.

Parties and night noises:

During night patrols, our guards will be attentive to excessive noise (50 decibels) as well as compliance with construction works hours (8 am – 6.30 pm).

For all the above cases, Covenant privileges or access to the resort will be suspended for visitors and they will have to pay the reactivation fee if they wish to lift the suspension. To avoid inconvenience, we remind you that all our guards have body cameras that film everything that happens 24 hours a day, with which we will have images of the infractions.

Abandoned cars, trailers, boats :

As we have already mentioned, the Municipal Transit Authorities are going to remove all the abandoned cars, trailers and boats. To avoid unnecessary expenses, we invite owners to remove their abandoned vehicles from Puerto Aventuras or park them on their property.

The vast majority of homeowners want to live in a place where the rules are followed and the community is respected. If you want to support Covenant in achieving that goal, we invite you to join our association.

If you haven’t seen it yet, we invite you to watch the Municipal Police video on Covenant’s collaboration.

Information Meeting and Covenant Assembly

We want to invite the community to an Information Meeting on Saturday, December 18 at 9 am (in English) and 11 am (in Spanish) at the Club the Playa. That meeting will also be broadcast by zoom. We will give you more information in the next few days.

On the other hand, we will have the Covenant Annual Assembly on January 22 at 9 am, in order to present the complete accounts for the year 2021. As in previous years, we will have Covenant Board of Directors elections during our assembly.
